In looking at the picture of the bottle cleaned up a bit, I notice something on the neck which reminds me of the half post method, or am I just seeing things (possible!)..

I'm thinking maybe a German bottle brought over by the Lancaster immigrants.
It has a look you see in some of the continental bottles. Its pretty early whatever it is.

The lip finish and glass color remind me of this small 6 1/2" long pocket flask, a compilation of opinions about which leave me calling it German, ca. 1800 or so..
