Some people have said that these could be dated around 1870, im not sure. There are no seams from being made in a mold, both are pretty heavy, no markings or embossing on either one. There are air bubbles in the glass. Anybody have any idea what, when these are? Any possible value? Thanks

Lobespierre...

I thought port bottles looked more like this:

The righty above looks more like a white wine or champagne, no?

G'day and welcome benbriggs [:D] .
They are both generic bottles that held almost everything, Beers, ales and porter would have been the main thing and also wine and champagne in the one on the right.
We get quite a few embossed and sandblasted beers exactly the same shape as the one on the right here in Oz.

The one on the left is a whisky, port type bottle ,and never held any thing fermentable such as ale beer etc
the right hand bottle is probably champagne ,but have dug these in the uk with remnants of labels on for cider
hard to date but would say circa 1900 - 1920

We call them ring seals here Swiz, I don't know what they call them in the US. Most of them were beer or champagne but I've seen lable remenants on them for Tomato sauce and other odd things. We find them by the millions here (almost [;)] ), embossed and sandblasted ones are a bit harder to get though there are still a lot of common ones.

Grim, bottles like the one on the left top photo did indeed sometimes have beer and porter in them, not as often nor maybe in England but they used them here for beer.
