protect pour?

Hi, just found this forum and would love any info anyone has on this bottle. There were a bunch of bottles I found but this one had a weird top and caught my attention, it says something very small and i think its 'protect pour, schenley ' the rest i cant read.

Schenley was a Whiskey and I think that top was an aftermarket item...I'm guessing 1940's...Jim

thanks guys. interesting that the owners were keeping the bartenders for overpouring for tips back then too!
