Here's a flask I just picked up. I think it is English but
I am not sure. I'm trying to dig up information in my books, but I have not been to successful so far. Greg

Very nice...[8D]
I'm not so sure about English. Are the "rigarees" on the side applied or molded on?

I also "see" the Nailsea flask form there as well.
more pix....

I have looked through dozens of reference books and I can't
validate my first thoughts of a English manufacture. I have found
reference with a few early American flask with the diamond pattern in clear glass but not with the rigarees. I know decorated
flask were manufactured here but at this point I have not been successful.

Potstone...I checked in Stiegel Glass, The Glass Gaffers of NJ , and in American Glass Vol.1 Blown & Molded before I saw anything faintly resembling this flask..and it may be the same you note...pg 210 15 Diamond pattern in clear minus any rigaree/quilling. Attributed to Mantua Glass Wks.

Another thing I noted: all flasks I saw in the above books, that had quilling (some on 4 sides)...the applied glass ended in a thin point near the neck/shoulder area...and not as a large elaborate glob such as yours has.

still looking........[&:]
