Hi, just picked up a large clear tooled top whiskey in attic mint condition.
The embossing reads:
RAPHAEL & ZEUGSCHMIDT (in arch)
SOLE AGENTS
TIOA OLD RYE
PITTSBURG, PA.
Ill try to post a few pics of it later.
Id like to know if its a good one, and if so is anyone interested in it?
Thanks, Hans.

RE: Raphael & Zeugschmidt Tioga Old Rye PICTURE

Hello Hans,

The Pittsburg spelling dates it to between 1890-1911, per the United States Board on Geographic Names.

They had some great go-withs from what I could see.

"The company existed under various guises from at least 1886 until 1919 or later. They were located at 320 5 th Ave from 1892 until 1895, at which point the address changed to 1028 5 th Ave due to a city-wide street renumbering.

The company used the brand names:
"Mount Union", "P. P. R.", "Popular Price Rye", "Popular Price Rye", and "Tioga."

Business name timeline:
Raphael & Dreyfoos (1886), R Raphael (1887), Raphael & Zeugschmidt (1892-1918)

Address timeline:
204-206 Wood (1886-1887), 320 5 th Ave (1892-1895), 1028 5 th Ave (1896-1916), 433 Liberty Ave (1917-1918)" Foundover @ this place.

One of their important go-withs was

this double handled Campaign tankard featuring both William Jennings Bryan and William McKinley. Found here.

Sodas & Beer Bottles of North America has a listing or two as they were also Bottlers for Schlitz.

I'm sure they have appeared on the bay, but I did not search for past auction results. You might try looking around there.
