Believe both the seller and buyer are in Melbourne and have the initials MM. Good luck to them.

Was not aware of a supposed buyer until last week while visiting in VIC. For mine probably last years most interesting ebay event. Yes indeed my apploigies as the skeptic when confirmed however you have to admit the proceedings were most strange. Will be watching with interest what the next couple of the larger smith examples bring.

I know who the seller was but was the buyers name Mick ? (strongly suspect so [:D] ).
I seem to remember RG paying around AU$5000 for a big lid a few years ago.

Aerated, as Gidday said a good story helps plus there is a lot of info on Smith and his company plus he was an early Melbourne chemist and used what is probably Australia's second pot lid, the fact there are a few coat of arms Smiths around is not seemingly slowing down the prices paid.
