Chris, those birds are great, hope you can do a reconstruct. I dug this one last week, not nearly as old (1850's?) but I hope I can find more pieces to make it look decent. Thanks for sharing the old stuff you and Don dig.

Is this worth restoring professionally ? I can't seem to find anything that looks like it on the web.

I think it would be, Chris. The birds are great, and not many diggers can say that they have a beautiful 250+ year-old piece like that on their shelf. Personally, I would be willing to make a reasonable investment to have it restored. ~Jim

Yeah, I'd be ecstatic to have dug such an incredibly early piece. I'd find someone reputable who could make it look new again. Those birds are beautiful!
