I scratch around the other day and came up with this. A Riker's Expectorant made by William B. Riker & Son Druggist 373 6th ave., N.Y. William B. Riker started in the drug business in 1846. He opened his own drug store and sold medicines, wines, & Liquors, Liquid and powder perfumes etc... he later bought his son into the business and the son almost ruined the business! The son was later committed to Belvue Hospital in N.Y.C. In 1910 Riker & son merged with Hegeman. Hegeman was a big drug store chain and they said there was a Hegeman across the street from every Riker's drug store in N.Y. here is a link to an ad. Hope you like.

In 1914 the Riker-Hegeman corp of N.Y. was a drug store chain with 105 stores. It was growing at the rate of more than 3 stores a month. The average druggist turned over their inventory 3 - 4 times a year, while Riker-Hegeman chain claimed 12!
There was also a merger with Riker that happened before Hegeman and that was with Dr. David Jaynes, Riker- Jaynes.
