I picked up a box of rocks at an estate sale last weekend and found this one in it. The original owner (passed away) picked up a lot of stuff in the desert and was kind of a pack rat. Could this have been a early tool of some sort? Dimensions are 2 x 2.5 x 3 inches.....

Thnks....Ron

Looks like a weight of some sort. I have found and studied similar stones here in NH that were used as weights for fishing nets in rivers. Hope this helps a little. Peace, T.[:D]

Looks like all you need now is the special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun![;)]

I could just imagine two ancient ones talking to each other:
Shamin:You know,Stoneshaper,I have seen into many tomorrows and can tell you that one day your works of stone will be worth many fortunes and will be sold by the basket full!
Stoneshaper:Ha Ha Ha,oh wise one,you make me laugh.Who with their right mind would buy a basket of rocks? It would be like trying to sell the air and water,Ha Ha Ha[:D]

Shamin: "These two stones symbolize individualism.. they can never be made into one stone"

Ancient guy w/ really strong hands: "Oh yeah?"

Thanks for replies. Probably a weight, wasn't quite sure!. aJohn - never thought I'd be buying a basket of rocks either. I got a small bucket of bottle stoppers and about 15 small opium and sample bottles as well as the box of rocks for a fiver. My daughter is a rock tumbler. I stay away from them as rocks and bottles don't have a good history.....Ron
