Hello Folks! How is everyone? I'm brand new to all of this. I just started collecting bottles about 2 months ago. I have a few that i'm not sure of, so maybe in the days to come i can get help with them. Here's one i found in a century farm dump. Hpoefully i sent the pic right. This bottle still has it's original rubber stopper and glass applicator inside still attached. I have no idea of value or age. The bottle is embossed with skull and cross bones and says "Poison Liq Iodine"

Hey Josh, Welcome to the forum. I'm not up on poisons like I should be. My wife is the poison collector around here. We do have a few poison specialists on the forum and they can give you all the info you need and tell you how to gather more.

Welcome, Josh. That is a classic Canadian poison bottle, probably the most widely used one of all. There is an American version of the same bottle that reads POISON TINCT IODINE below the skull and bones. There is also a very rare bottle of the same style that is cobalt blue. It has the same skull and bones, and simply reads POISON. I have one of possibly five known examples of that one [:)] I like anything with a skull and bones, and these little iodine bottles are very cool. I posted some info about your other bottle as well. Thanks for sharing your bottles. Jim

Thank-you for the welcome Jim. I have been checking out this site for the past few days. I can't believe the amount of information in here. How long have you been collecting and studing bottles?

I have been collecting bottles since I was 11, I'm now 25. I have been reading bottle books ever since. My main interests are poison bottles, ink wells and bottles from my local area.

There are collectors here for every major type of bottles. You will meet some great people and get to see some sweet bottles too. This is my favorite forum anywhere. Jim
