You are not going to believe this but the Blizzard that is still raging in the Northeast will finally wind down tommorrow evening........ but another storm is fast on it's heels.OK now for the new news which can be good if you are a snow lover or bad if your sick and tired of it.
The latest weather related news from the weather folks at Accuweather. This coming March 3rd ,4th next week another sizeable snow storm with characteristics of and central pressures again rivaling just like the current storm a Category 2 hurricane. The snow from this storm has made it
down to baltimore Washington again and will continue to snow from Maine to Virginia on and off all weekend. The storm next week is already
being billed as another monster in the making with hurricane force winds heavy snow you know the drill by now.An east coast record was set with
this current storm as never in the history of weather data starting from the year 1890 have 4 Blizzards struck virtually the same area.Winds with yesterdays storm reached 92 miles an hour in New hampshire and Mass. The summit weather station on top of Mt washington in New Hampshire home to the worlds harshest winters and winds had a gust of 121 mph!!! Currently the sustained winds at the 6,200 plus summit are an incredblie 50 miles per hour with gusts up to 70.The next storm coming is going to be just as powerfull and the thing with this one will be it wont stall this time increasing the snow amounts instead it will race up the coast from where it forms in North carolina all the way to Maine. This feature alone a fast moving storm has the tendency to do more hurricane type damage to a larger area than the one we are ciurrently feeling the effects of.

Enjoy the read

Here is another shot of the Colarado site water vapor radar loop of the current storm.
Look at the little burst of low level moisture coming out of Southern Mass. along the top of Long Island heading
than north and than west back into the New Hampshire/Maine coast line.It is the dark red football shaped image moving fast

This is an awesome weather site. Now look for the dark red football shaped shot of water vapor thats going to enhance the snow
in New enlgland where snow was limited last evening because of the huge influx of ocean air.

Three layer water vapor shot from the GOES II weather satelitte.
The green colors over the Hudson bay are outflow clouds. This only usually
happens with hurricanes. This current storm was a hurricane for about 10 hours.

Look at the two storms on each coast. The storm in the West is the one thats going to become the blizzard in the east 6 days from now.
See how the storm makes it to the rockies and than it is shunted due south as it runs into the big High pressure system sitting over
the northern Middle of the United States and Canada. The next diiference with the storm coming from the Pacific North West is it doesnt need the upper low feature in the Ohio valley to get it going it will have already received its upper air support in Texas. This formation of a low and a high and a low is known as an Omega block.A low on the west coast a large high pressure system in the northern middle of the country and another low off the mid atlantic coast
spells trouble big trouble.look at this image and you can clearly see this setup. It creates litterally a roller coaster effect of storms on a track.Infact look at how fast the mini storm that is racing off into the gulf is travelling.

This is the link to the NOAA site.
Let the page load it takes about 15 seconds.

The snowicane was a bust where I live in central NH.
We had rain all day yesterday and there is less snow now than there was before the storm started.
Most of the ground is bare. It must have tracked more towards western NH and VT.
It was windy, though, and we lost our power last night for a few hours.

Enough cold air has wrapped in and the trajectory is from Maine more and less the ocean.

Intresting chat about the weather. I live in the hilltowns out side of Albany, New York...and this past week has been a test to what to do with all the snow.

We had two BIG storms this past week starting on the 23rd...then another on the evening of the 25th and 26th. And it is now Saturday the 27th and it has been snowing all night....the total for the Tuesday storm was 26 inches...the total for the Thursday storm was 22 inches and couple that with the 5 inches we got over night and that brings our grand total for one week to 53 inches.
