Hi there,

Not sure where to start but my dad found this old empty Seagram's Canadian Whisky bottle. All I can see from the label is "Seagram's Canadian Whisky". At the bottom of the bottle, it says "160P". The cap is a cork.

Any idea how old it is, or where I can find more info?

Thanks.

Welcome.
Does your bottle have raised writing..."Federal law Forbids...", if so it is very datable.
It looks a little newer, maybe circa late 1960's? Maybe there is more where that came from?
Turns out my Grandfather in-law REALLY liked his Seagrams. Here is one I am trying to find a picture of when it was new. Has anyone seen this bottle anywhere? I only have one of these.

Looking again... You said it is a cork, maybe it was during prohibition times! I'll try to find out when Seagrams started. I have a few that have a P-160. I still learning too.
Good Luck.

I can see the seam on both sides on the bottle but they stop at the shoulder. No seam on the neck or lip.
Also, the cap is a cork with a glass top.
No other engraved writing except the "160P".

Thanks.

Hey Rockfish, yes I've seen that bottle [8|]. In fact, I dug one up myself just like it as well as three of it's younger brothers [sm=rolleyes.gif]. Here are a couple of photo's. The one I have like your's is marked on the bottom with a owens Ill. (I think it's Jan. 8th, 1957) as you can see. Have you checked your post's about the houses in "What is it before 1900". I left some information and qyestins there for you...
