Hey guys! I’ve been in the bottle world for a while now, and (in addition to setting up at bottle shows) I’ve set up at flea markets and the like selling bottles (quite successfully, I might add). I’m starting a full time job, and have decided it is time to start focusing on one collecting area, and not on any bottle I can get my hands on. I particularly like historical flasks and inks, and to fund my new collection I am selling off my “flea market bottles.†1,448 bottles in total. All of the prices are marked and they are “going rateâ€, i.e. market value. Details and pictures follow:
$1 bottles: 151
$2 bottles: 307
$3 bottles: 82
$4 bottles: 120
$5 bottles: 184
For a sub-total of 844 bottles, valued at $2,711; they average @ $3.21 each.
156 Massachusetts blob beers (I can get between $12 and $15 each) @$12= $1,872
My other bottles (all over $5 and with prices all marked) include: rare colored whiskeys, rare colored blob beers, stoneware, a few pontils, a few foreign bottles, a few coke bottles, bottles with intact labels, sodas, hutches, a few wooden cases, some black glass, some pontiled Mexican glass, etc.; total of 448 bottles, market valued at $5,793. (total of all marked prices).
For a grand total of $10,376 worth in bottles (and a total of over 62 boxes). I'm looking for 50% market value for the entire lot, which works out to $5,000 for all 1,448 bottles. I will, however, entertain other offers -preferably offers of more than I’m asking, but I have found that isn’t how it usually works
