This is a very dark almost puce with pontil scared base. hard to see through even with light.

Just in case you do not realize it, that HOSTETTER'S, if described properly, is a KILLER (as "They" say) bottle, worth at least 2,000 USD. I specialized in BITTERS for a LLOOOOONG time and saw only two actual pontilled HOSTETTER'S. I was unable to buy either even though, at that time, I had rather deep pockets. They were actually dark GREEN and if yours is actually PUCE (in other collectors opinion) it is a real WINNER.

Maybe I'll hook a ride on a cruise ship heading for Burmuda and look you up. I would consider it worth the trip just to see such an item and be able to photograph and document it. I know Bill Ham personally and he would LUV to have it documented for an updated book. In that color and being pontiled it may be unique.

I would sure enjoy seeing more detailed pictures of all it's features including the base. Thanks again for sharing.
