I haven't posted much lately but I just finished up my Christmas cards! so I've got a lot of catching up to do. Got some real mysteries to post from New Year's till now but here's some gets from last week. Went to the PA auction and scored a bottle I wanted plus I got to see Tom Grove and Chris, John, and John's son from the Bmore club. On the way up to the Auction in Dover Pa I passed through Red Lion Pa as they were having their town-wide yardsale. Pulled over to a house with a table of bottles and bought two York Co. bottles I didn't have, the George A. Hoover/ Glen Rock, PA for $8 and the White Rose Bottling Works for $3. I also got an odd shaped Brookfield insulator I'll have to post a pic of. It was nice having already scored some finds before the auction so I wouldn't come home empty handed either way. At the auction I got a tray of 7 bottles including the other four shown here for $12. I only wanted the Love & Gohn / Craley PA and would have gladly paid $12 for that piece of local history as Crayley is a tiny PA town. Although the Boone Rock Ginger Ale is not real valuable it's a very cool bottle with Dan'l embossed and "Blazing the trail" on the ring around the shoulder.

Baltimore folks know of this little Bromo imitator but I doubt if the rest of you have seen it. Only comes in 2 1/2" & 4" size, reads:
THE BROMO / DRUG CO. / BALTIMORE / MD. / U.S.A.

P.S. This was an ebay buy

On the way back from the auction I stopped at another Red Lion yardsale because I saw what looked like ginger beers but they were some crap made in Jamaica? Sorry for the poor pic but I did buy this lithograph poster for $1. If condition is everything, then this is nothing, dirty, stained, torn, and creased but the image was intriguing.

It reads:
MLLE ALICE MELZEY, LATE OF PARIS HIPPODROME, IN HER ASTONISHING FEATS of JUGGLING

I think it says the Donaldson Litho Co Cinnci O which did exist but I can find nothing on Ms Melzey??

Heading for Virginia and the Appalachian Trail today till Sunday...take care fellow glassheads!

Thanks Jim,
Backpacking was exhausting but a blast at the same time. 34th anniversary today, must see what I can do for my sweetheart! Anyone heard of that poster, can't find anything, anywhere?
