Well, Lisa, all I can say is THAT LOOKS SUPER! I see the Owen-Illinois logo on the base. The date codes from that will help you put a date on it. It looks art-deco. So 1920s-1930s. To show us the logo, look closely and type it out as is shown--every number and period. Like, "9 <(I)> 9" Some have a period after the final number, some don't. That is just their date codes.
I'm not certain exactly what type of information you are attempting to gather about your bottle, but because you said "Any ideas anyone?," I thought I'd add my 2-cents worth. The following is the result of a general knowledge of soda bottles coupled with the results of a brief search, part of which is based on the assumption that your bottle is marked with 9 <(I)> 9
1. The <(I)> mark is for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company which was established in 1929.
2. The 9 on the left is the Owens-Illinois plant number in Streator, Illinois, which opened in
1930.
3. The 9 on the right is for 1939 (Despite the fact they were established in 1929, I am not
aware of any Owens-Illinois plants earlier than 1930).
4. Seven Up / 7up came into existence in 1929.
5. Your bottle is likely marked with "Iron Mountain Bottling - Iron Mountain, Michigan"
6. The word LAMMI is for George and Hilda Lammi (Proprietors of Iron Mountain Bottling).
7. Your identical bottle style is also found with Orange Crush embossed on it by Iron Mountain
Bottling.
8. Your identical bottle style with Seven Up embossed on it is also found from Iberia, Louisiana.
Note: I do not know the full history of the Iron Mountain Bottling Company but assume they were around at least as early as 1939 and continued into the 1950s because I have seen ACL (painted label) bottles by them from that time period.
2. According to this source, Iron Mountain Bottling Works was around in 1909, and possibly earlier. Of course they could not have been a franchise 7up bottler that early but at least we know their roots go back to at least 1909.
Thank SodaPopBob! Iron Mountain Bottling Company is still in business. I thought it was a neat bottle for the collection and really like it.Glad you like it Bear!Lisa
