Strange little glass.... something?

It's just on 4" long and made of very light glass. Certainly seems like a scientific something or other:

That's right, Dave, it makes sense. Actually I could use it right now ~ was cutting wood on the hillside behind my house when I took a bad tumble. Nice gash on my leg, but also got a whiplash branch up my right nostril, which is still bleeding !!

Sorry everyone - it wasn't meant to be that big ! Tried to reduce picture to make it little less tasteless but ... oh well !

Actually wasn't that deep once it was cleaned up. It really is sad how one becomes a bit tottery as one gets older ~ I remember racing down mountainsides at great pace, leaping from one rock to the next. Only just managing the steps up to the front door now!!

However it's amazing what a hole with a few bottles can do for one !!
