I found this bottle in antique mall in New Mexico. Knox Glass Bottle Company, Jackson, Mississippi factory. The factory operated between 1932 to 1968. I've seen some other strange bubble bottles from Knox that were used for olive oil, but I can't pinpoint exactly what this particular bottle would have been used for. I think your assumption of olive oil is right. That is what I thought at first glance as well.
