Hi guys:

I found this bottle that seems to have a "tongue and groove" style seam. Is this common? I have just never seen one before now. Thanks

I have no idea, but I'm sure Red's gonna know or he's gonna want to handle that bottle in person...

I don't know where that quote came from. But your picture doesn't exactly show where the key is located on the bottle. I have a bottle somewhere that had a key of that type on the shoulder horizontal seam and at that time, it was to locate one half of the two part shoulder mold radially on the main lower part of the mold. I think the 'Talouse' book also had a reference to this use. Unfortunately I don't have one here to reference.

I don't know where that quote came from.
RED M.

The quote was in reference to a type of joint used in flooring that uses the same principle. As I have never seen this type of seam on a bottle before, I did not know the proper name for it, you'll have to forgive me.

I was really just wondering if this is rare and if there was a specific name for this type of mold? I just found it interesting. Are there any links so I can read up on it?
