Sunday Dig

It's been a while since I've posted a dig story so here goes: Dave (CanadianBoy) decided to take a break from his world travels to get out for a dig. We had done a quick dig at this spot last year and found mainly newer stuff. The dump covers probably 3 - 4 acres and is on top of perfectly flat bedrock - this is Canadian shield territory.

A few weeks ago Dave scouted around some more and found the older section of the dump. We didn't get into anything really old but did come up with a few keepers. Dave found a cobalt poison and a nice amber beer, I took home a Horsman Campbellford Ontario soda, a chicago beer and a nice embossed Aylmer's ketchup. Pictures to follow.

This hole I've started as a rail running through it that could be part of the underground (mono ) railway, you just never know.

Lastly we have a shot of the intrepid younger apprentice, taking a pic of me taking a pic of him taking a pic of me........

When I first met him he was into inslators, but now he's into both, he as even taught me how to hide from trains, I still find bottles more interesting.

And we will get out again, in fact tomorrow I'm going over to the dump and remove some trees.

Looks like a good place ! skeeters and deer flys must be happy to see you.

Flies were kinda bored until people started digging for bottles,
then they quickly found their hobby.

Interesting spot....That looks like a piece of narrow guage rail....
