There was an offering of bottles on Ebay a few months back where the guy claimed they came out of the "Big Dig". Has to have been plenty of stuff found and not reported.

Hi all, About 5 or 6 years ago I stayed in Boston with my exbrother and sister-in-laws and had located an empty lot with piles of dirt that had been dumped on that site. I went speak to the house next door and was given permission to scrap through the dirt. He told me the dirt had come from downtown (The Big Dig). I immediately noticed bottles along the bottom edges of some of the piles of dirt that had been dumped. I collected for the next 5 days around 40 bottles from Boston and the surrounding area. No pontil bottles but nice hair bottles, milks, soda, 2 jugs, there where broken jugs everywhere, make a grown man cry. That's my experience with the Big Dig Dirt. The best of the bottles I found I believe was a cobalt "Fountain of Youth Hair Restorer" and a mini jug about 1-1/2" tall that said "Boston Baked Beans" made of clay. Well that's my experience with some of the dirt from the big dig, sure would have like to have been a worker just hauling dirt out...lol.

Rick, very nice bottle you found on your own big dig. thanks for sharing the pic. Kim congrats on finding bottles from the big dig. It must have been fun to just walk around and pick up bottles. Paul
