well, here it is! this one here is sure different, its not glass but more like clay/pottery, shes a little chewed up, which is a little disappointing. my guess is its a little whiskey nipper, the glad hand? i imagine it was known as a handful of whatever was in it... not sure what the top would have looked like, ummm..... can someone solve the mystery behind this odd piece?

Hello NorCal,

Found this: http://www.bergsengs.com/4_Hands.html click on the back button to go to the home page. He attributes many nippers to Schafer & Vater of Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany. That is a wonderful find. He has it as nip20 in two versions.
