Morning Steve! This flask is now pretty well documented as having been made in Westford, CT. 1860-1873.

Here's a travelers flask from Ohio. Which glass house was the first to produce the travelers companion flask?

Helen McKearin only stated that Van Rensselaer attributed it to there in his research from the very early part of the 1900's, the birth of the hobby. She also stated that Charlie Gardner attributed it to Westford.
We can't start shooting the messengers for things written 30-100 years ago. Think of their research capabilities from 1900-40's. No internet, No celphones or even phones in every area.
They're still the best references around overall. Granted there are corrections to be made. Helen has made many in the "78 book and many more are to be made or have been.
The Travelers isn't uncommon but they're in demand. For some reason more so than the marked Westfords. Yours has a different base than the more common Westfords that I've seen, perhaps later in the factory history? was was short. It's very nice Steve and I'd like to have one. Half pint if you got one.[:D]
