This is a latest find for me, sadly with the top of the crown seal off [] .
It's a Barrett Bros North Fitzroy 26 ounce crown seal beer, very rare and dates to around 1910, value if undamaged would be about AU$1000 needless to say it will be soon repaired.

Any one else got any "almost there" goodies recently ?

BUMMER .... if only the bottom didnt break out you could have stored your tears in it !. It happens to all of us out there in the field. You are not alone. My father had a strap side whiskey flask pre 1900 with fantastic embossing that made it from a dig in NH to a porch in MN only to have gotten smashed to 50 pcs... My condolences

there are something like 10 known intact examples of this one, like Irish's bottle, this will one day be repaired.

I just knew I'd been too lucky with bottles upuntil this one, almost every other good bottle had come out intact! (oops! I shouldn't say that out loud! :)

Warith and Irish, you may recognise this name: A. W. & T. L. Ware.

It is a fairly rare South Australian beer, the only part of which I was lucky to find was the base and part of the monogram. Definitely could be described as an "If only..." bottle.

This photo is another "If only", but a rare S. A. jar.

I've never heard of it, old? I have to say I think you folk in SA have one of Australia's best beers; the slab-sealed clay Lion Brewery bottle! I'd justabout kill fo rone of those!

"H.Jones"? As in the IXL bloke?
