I have always gotten a kick out of people who think that just because you dug something that you got it for free.

Not to mention your time also. Time spent researching, hunting down permissions, and then the actual dig. Almost all of us invest time into our collections, whether it be digging, surfing the web, going to shows, tag sales, or watching auction houses. For me, it is an enjoyable time, and time well spent, but it is still part of the investment....Bill

As far as the ladies leg shaped bottle, am I the only one that thinks it dates to the 1870's-80's? I would disagree that it is pontilled. I have dug several bottles with similar bases from this context and atleast a couple in this shape. This base is very common on European Hock Wines.

I think this is the earlier style of that same bottle...which is pontiled....Jim

Neat bottle for sure. I have one very similar. It was brought up from a divesite in the carribean in the 1930's that yielded lots of bottles from 17th cent to 18th cent I'll check the base n lip.

Value is what you make it. It's a cool bottle.
