OK, before you all freak about another Turlington question, I have read all the posts here on the subject, and pretty much on the internet.
My Turlington is 2 1/2 inches high, and 1 3/8 inches at its widest point. The seam goes up the corners and stops at the neck. There are some kind of tool marks? at the neck. I guess the lip is applied.
As you can see from the pics, it has some sun coloring.
I dug it in a plowed field in South Jersey while metal detecting so its got some plow dings on it. It came up with a minnie ball.
The interesting thing is its got some double letters on it (some kind of BooBoo?) I've tried to get a good picture of them, but I can't quite get it.
Any ideas how old it might be? Is it one of the counterfeits?
Any idea what its worth?
'Preciate any info.

Here's a picture of the front, "By the King's Royal Patent Granted"
It looks like the the center of the bottle melted or something. There is a double Y in royal, and a double N in granted.
Or is it a reworked mold??
Wish I could get a better picture. Its in the same place on both sides.
Thanks for looking!!

Hey aridice53 and all
Can't say I know how to tell which were real or copycats , or really much about them other than what little I 've read . That said heres a pic of one I dug that was along side other bottles that were dated to 1840s to the 1860s. As you can see this one in ruff shape but it's still cool I think .Its open pontiled with a flaired lip which is broken up some what.On one side it says TUR then under that LING then under that TON'S then agian under that BALSAM.Then on the other side it say'sTHE KING'S PATENT. Just thought I'd throw and older version in there to compare your's to and maybe some one can help us both with how to tell which were true Turlington's and which were copycat's.For all I know mine maybe and old copycat. Thanks and good luck diggen all. And aridice yours is a cool little bottle and I like that shade of pinkess purple color. bill

I guess the first thing to note is there are a boat-load of variations for Turlington bottles. Your's appears to be a later one but its still a nice bottle. Most of the ones with the Royall spelling are early ones but there was at least two (probably more) later mold types with that spelling. Dont think its an error, just the older English spelling.
