Hey John...

Those turtles are really cool[8D] What did you say they were used for? What do they go for? I don't remember seeing anything like that at any of the bottle shows. I'll have to take a closer look in the future.

The turtles range in ages from the 1860's thru the early 1900's.. The one with the square grid type bottom would be the newest..The oldest would be the cobalt one.. The size range is from 4 inches long to 10 inches long by about 4 -6 inches wide They were made as glass house whimseys. On lunch breaks or end of day.Thier function whatever you could dream up.. I would imagine decrative uses... Seeing glasss houses were so abundent here in south jersey.. there are several collectors of this type of glass.. they range in price from around 40.00 to I have seen them sell @ auction for 150.00.. I never really had an intrest till late.. My oldest son saw the blue one and wanted to find more!!!!

I know where there are a few more one in clear one in a light blue.. the clear one is a smaller size the blue is a med size in nice condition ..either one would be in the 60.00 range

I seem to remember a nice display of those at the FOHBC show in York this past summer. Did you see that display? I don't have my program right in front of me, but it should be listed in there. The displayer might have a website.

Anyway, they look nice. One day I'll probably try to add one to my collection.
