i love them. i keep an eye out for them as i collect turtles as it's a nick name for one of my loved ones. made me think of our moden day turtle shape back massagers.

While researching glass houses a while back I found that the Lancaster Glass workers used to make off hand turtle whimsy's like these for friends and family to use as door stops... they are very cool...
Here are my two turtles. The club display had about 50. I might have a picture of that; I'll have to look. I remember hearing that Clevenger Brothers made turtles. I'm not sure how to tell an old one from one of theirs.
You have a great collection of turtles there.I've never seen an "old" cobalt one until now.
Here are two that Jason & I had on public display recently with other glasshouse items and bottles.They were produced at the Newark Star Glassworks.I have dug a half dozen or so in Ohio and most have been very plain,some without feet and non prominent heads.Even dug they exhibit alot of base wear,and they were thrown away after a short time.These things are heavy and if the bottoms aren't half rubbed off in places there is a good chance they are new.I have seen alot of newer ones on ebay,etc.
