two more nice earlyish utilities today

Picked up these two superb example English utilities today, the snuff is excellent and very short with a big lip, but my favorite form is the square widemouth with an even bigger lip. Haven't had one of these or even really seen the type before.

The square one certainly going in my collection, the snuff, well I'll check it out against my other examples first, but there'll be at least one good snuff coming up for sale soon! (Xmas coming up! Can't keep it all!!!)

Thanks for the comments guys generally, and in answer to KFF, I'd love to think this is a c1750ish, going from the crudity, heavyness etc, but I think we are all guilty of linking crudity with age which just doesn't add up, and always I'm sure we predate our bottles generally. However it is I feel a pretty early bottle so anything from 1760-1780 I guess. I would be suprised if it was any later. I do find that pre 1760 you don't seem to get too many "specialised utility stringrims and lips - utilities before this rough date seem to have copied more the traditional wine style stringrims and lips of the various eras.
