Hello, my buddy recently dug a couple broken Uncle Tom's Bitters in a light yellow amber color. I have checked eBay and the bottle books but couldn’t find it listed. Can anyone find the value of this broken bottle in any books?

Hi Tom,

Found a listing in a 1986 House of Collectables bottle price guide:

UNCLE TOM'S BITTERS
Square bottle, "THOMAS FOULD & SON"
Treverton,PA, pale amber,tapered top, 10".................125.00 - 175.00

Most BITTERS have gone up since then. That is one listing I spotted.

Hi
30 years ago I dug a uncle tom's bitters in NE Pa. around the Lehighton area. A guy from Stroudsburg was very anxious to trade or buy it from me. Needless to say, I wouldn't sell it and still have it. He eventially sold the bottle I was considering to trade for $425.00. I've searched E-Bay for years and have never seen another, not even at bottle shows. My bottle is a dark amber though.

Thanks for the information guys. Atdadump, my friend dug these bottles near Ashland, PA which is also in Eastern PA where you found yours. It’s pretty cool to here that they are a rare bottle but it’s a shame they were broken. Maybe some day he will dig a whole one.

Tom ,
Your bottle is listed in Ring & Ham's as a U 5 UNCLE-TOMS-BITTERS // THOMAS FOULDS & SON // TREVORTON , PA
Square , Amber , LTCR , Applied Mouth , 3 sunken panels, EXTREMELY RARE .
If yours was undamaged and being in a lighter shade.... I would say it would be worth 350.00 - 650.00 range. Maybe more to a local collector. These rare squares are up and down in value. Get back diggin to find that whole one !
