MARJORIE, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME BOTTLE AS YOURS, IT SEEMS TO BE TRUE THAT IT IS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE THE JANOS MINERAL WATER BOTTLE THATS EMBOSSED ON THE BOTTOM, I FOUND ONE ENBOSSED ONE AND ONE WITH THE K ON IT LIKE YOURS IN THE SAME HOLE... NICE WINDOW BOTTLE FOR SURE hh!!!

That thing's definately not from the 1850s or before, so there's no way it's Kensington.

One of the first bottles I ever dug up back in the mid 1970s was one like that, complete with the K on the base. Have found quite a few more since then, so they're quite common here in England, making Kensington very unlikely.

Yeah I've always heard the black glass K bottles come from Europe somewhere ( but where?). On the one's I have and have seen the K's are not in the middle and there's usualy a number of raised dots with them. Also seen an H but that one was in the middle with no bumps.

I don't know where in Europe that mineral water comes from, but I have probably dug over a hundred of them, along with hundreds of Hunyadis, from a local TOC dumpsite. So far as I now, they are still there, resting under a huge State Fire Marshall's office complex. We carefully laid them behind as we went forward in the dump layer. Sometime, in the far distant future, they will be "rediscovered".
