Saw this boxed and labeled variant on ebay for 20 bucks and thought, "Why not?" I opened it up to see what was going on as I couldn't find an example listed anywhere that was embossed "London". (The earlier ones were apparently from Enfield) Hoping to get a better idea of age, I read every line of the 2 advertising flyers with various testimonials with dates ranging from 1882 to the latest, 1896. Then I finally noticed the import stamp on the box with "#1495/guaranteed under/the /food and drug act/ June 30th 1906." I noticed it didn't say "PURE" Food & Drug Act, which I thought interesting. I also noted the chamfered corners on the base, unlike my example. Other than that, the mold looked identical to mine, though only "Reynolds" was viewable due to the paper label wrapped around the remaining 3 sides. Though fully covered, one can make out the embossing underneath and is indeed from London. I think my personal favorite thing is the picture of their trade mark. It has a bottle with head, arms and legs and a stick standing on a defeated dragon. I only wish they embossed this on the bottles, in cobalt blue! Ha! The other picture of a before & after man selling the product. On this ad it advertises as "effectual remedy for gout, rheumatism, sciatica, & lumbago." I was surprised to learn I could have used some of this after digging it up! Ha!
