Hey everyone. First post. Great site and very informed members. I work at an older country club in the Chicago area and stumbled across this bottle adjacent to a creek that runs through the property. The text reads "V.Donat," shows the trademark and the address of 1529 W. 19th St. Chicago, reads "this bottle is never sold" on the back, and has a large "D" on the bottom (sorry, haven't washed it up yet). Unfortunately the top has been broken off.
I haven't been able to dig up much information on the bottle but did see another member here bought a similar bottle and found the maker to be C & Co LIM which operated from 1886-1907 in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not. It looks like it may be an older soda bottle too? What I've found odd is that I can find some information and text about the company with a different address embossed on the bottle (576 W. 19th St.) but not this one.
Any information would be great. Thanks, guys.
