I don't know a lot about old medical bottles but it definity looks to be authentic and fairly old , Vancouver being fairly large there was likely a number of pharmacists using these bottles back then . finds like these don't happen everyday so definity go back there and see what else is there

Went back to the site two days ago. Got full permission but found nothing else. Here's some interesting history as researched by Fenian (Michael) from the Canadian Metal Detecting Forum:

Just for interest, your medicine bottle dates between 1910 and 1922.

Research was a bit challenging on this one, as the name on the bottle is clearly "Brown", while the druggist's name was actually "Browne". James W. Browne and James A. Beaton operated a drug store in Vancouver for quite a few years. Older directories show their business address as 500 Westminster Avenue, Vancouver.........until 1910, at which point, that part of Westminster Avenue was renamed "Main Street".

The partnership appears to have remained intact for the next decade, with a 2nd pharmacy being opened at 1201 Granville Street, about 1918-19. James Browne dropped out of the business the following year, with Beaton still showing as "of Browne & Beaton", for 2 years. By 1923, Beaton is shown as operating "Beaton's Drug Store" at the Granville Street address, with Browne having vanished into history.

Hope they got a refund on the incorrectly named bottles !

............... Michael
