Hi CBN - That looks like a syringe bottle, to me anyway. You know, those little bottles the doctor sticks the needle into just before he/she sticks it into you[&:]

I've always thought of "ampule" as one of those small glass vessels which is completely sealed in glass. You have to snap off the tip of the vessel to open it.
