First I'd like to give a great big thank you to all our Veterans and their families! You will never be forgotten.

After several unproductive digs over the past few weeks I final brought home some nice bottles. Nothing rare just a nice variety of bottles and some good clean glass. I started digging yesterday afternoon and got to the use layer as the sun set. I took advantage of the holiday today and started fresh this morning. Got down around 5 1/2 feet when the bottles started coming. The HILO SODA WORKS HUTCH dates early 1890's and was a bugger to get out. It was fused to a chuck of rust and required quite a bit of patience, not to mention back breaking work to get out. I'm really happy with the two amber bottles too. I was able to get the stoppers for them and found them to be CROWN DISTILLED COMPANY. They are very nice and the picture shows no justice. Another Durkee and this time it says salad oil.
The Ammonia bottle is nice, but quite common. The cryers were the black glass ones with the tops broken. They look very old. Oh and the green stopper is a first for me. It looks like some kind of crown. Thanks for looking!

Aloha, Rocky

What would cause a base to appear this way?

Early Johann Hoff bottles have this "Patent" embossing in the same place, it looks exactly like that to me from this pic, LOVE the Hilo Hutch RB, as you know they are the cornerstone of my Paterson collection, I really like the 2 green bottles as well, love that color...
Continued success,
Jim
