Just got this in an auction lot. 6-7/8" tall, 2-3/4" diameter at base. No markings on base, two seams disappear about half way up the neck. Blue-green color isn't captured well due to crappy weather. Damage on the rear of the lip isn't nearly as bad as it looks in the photo, one small chip at the base in front.

Front reads "WALTER & LAUTER | READING . PA" with the "A" in PA raised and underlined.

Back reads "W&L" in very large outlined block print.

My most recent bottle book is 1994, and it's not there. Also failed to find it online anywhere. Anybody know this little guy?

Any idea of rarity or value? I can't even find anything about the company.

steve , that is a squat soda bottle around 1870 -1890. looks nice but the market has takin a dive on these bottles. if it had a pontil "iron" it would go maybe $80- $150. being it is just a smooth base green squat maybe $40 - $60 at the most.not real sure about how rare it is but most of these squats are not listed ,and that does not make them rare.nice looking bottle though ,hope i could help. ,matt
