Not Sure if this was just a TEST bottle. Found it in a collection of 1920 and 1040 Cola Cola Bottle Collection

I talked to a expert about it and he said it’s probably a beer bottle. It has a blob top. It looks like it’s from the late 1890s to early 1900s.

I wonder why the bottle would have the 'Not to be Sold' on it?


Most company's that put NOT TO BE SOLD on a Bottle would have there Name embossed in the Bottle making it harder to steal or resell. Which was big back then. They wanted the Bottles returned to be refilled. Since the slug plate in blank I assume they were to cheap to have there bottles embossed & probably slapped a paper label on it. LEON.
