Also, I have one more question to ask all of you! I have not yet cleaned this bottle (its soaking in fresh water for now). Should I dip this bottle in muriatic acid to clean it and remove the bits of coral growth or should I keep it with the coral bits on it? Any thoughts on this would help! Thanks!

Now your getting into personal preference and personally I'd leave as it is.
Also, that's not a burst top. It was tooled for a pour spout so I'd have to guess that's just some chipping unfortunately.

Hi Cowseatmaize:

I am pretty sure it is a burst top (shear top). The lip actually is made in a way that it tapers up to the rough parts of the lip. Its very hard to show in a picture but when I compare this lip to other shear top (burst top) lips, they are identical (same taper up to the rough parts). Even the pour spout piece has very thin rough edges on the top. If you hold this lip up to the light you can see that the color is darker in the lip but lighter where it tapers up to the rough parts (thinner due to the tapering). I would love to see another example of this bottle to see! Thanks!
