This time with a little more time and a metal crabbing net!

I was in my kayak and every time the paddle hit the bottom of the very silty river bed, I could feel it was hitting bottles.

But I was concentrating on the things I couldn't quite reach last time (when I found the milk)

I picked up a few, but most were broken and there was a huge variety (from 1915 - late 1970s)

Rolling Rock 7 oz (good condition)
Yankee Bottling Co. (nasty fracture)
1915 Washington D.C. Coke (large chip at the base)
Rock Creek Ginger Ale (same size as the other one) (good condition)
American Brewery Baltimore (missing the bottom)
Heinz Ketchup (I'm assuming) (good condition)
Blair House Fine Soft Drinks (good condition)
and a Dorthy Gray jar of something (good condition)

nice =)

I need some advice on how to get the bottles out of the silt. Walking is out of the question as it's fairly soft over 3ft down, and I'm sure as heck not reaching down into it. Maybe a long potato rake (I think that's what they're called)?

Crawling through the mud and briars of Eliot Maine
take two pieces of plywood and flop them out on to the mud in front of you. You kneel on one, and flip the next out in front of you. That way you dont sink down. No way to get the bottles without getting muddy, so just get on some rubber gloves and go at it. good luck :}
