Pictured below are two classic sodas from California.....The first, the ever present, Owen Casey Eagle Soda Works / Sac City....This is a nice deep cobalt blue bottle....this bottle is found primarily in shades of blue...The green ones are the most desirable. Aqua Owen Casey's may be a bit more scarce then the blue ones, but no one seems to care....cobalt is King........... A smooth based bottle circa 1867 - 1871.......from Sacramento, California...
The second bottle is a B & G San Francisco / Superior Mineral Water....the base is 10 sided (a chisel base)....Deep cobalt with a graphite pontil....circa 1852-1856....This is a nice collectable early soda from San Francisco California....not rare but a nice example of a gold rush California. There are many guess's as to what the initials B & G stood for...it is however generally accepted that they stand for Bache & Grotjan who ran a wholsale and retail druggist and apothecaries in San Francisco
