I guess you are from somewhere in Europe?
Generally, these containers were used for mineral water, wine, or gin.

It looks like it's stamped PETERS. Might be a J.J.W. Peters product. A big gin and other alcohol maker for I think a couple hundred years.

Ignore the next part if it comes out jibberish. I just felt like try google translate to Russian.
