I don't think that number has anything to do with the date of the bottle

That is a Glenshaw Glass Mark on the bottom, so indeed there should be a letter on the lip (which may be very hard to find without holding it up to the light). Once the letter is known, it can be dated. That particular bottle may be late enough that there is just a number date on the lip. ~bottlingco
