This shard is believed to be from 1857 when he first went into business, it's possible it's open pontiled, until a whole one is found we'll never know for sure...
Hey Epackage, I do not collect embossed bottles so I could not give you a name but it is believed some of the earliest American sodas are the egg type bottles. I have wanted one for some time now although they are not the priciest of utility bottles it has been an elusive mold for me. I would say the embossed ones are some of your earliest soda companies. I'm sure there are some much older from other countries, probably back to ancient times.
