Even though all the info is clear as day I’m having trouble finding out the history, dating and possible worth on this great 4gal jug. Thanks in advance for any help/info.

I have a similar problem finding information about local whiskey jugs. They’re pretty much nonexistent online and sales are only once every five years to a decade on ebay and other venues. So I look up the distillery or the saloon, It’s associated with as much information as I can. Good luck with your search. Rick

Thanks Rick, we have many jugs and stoneware displayed and used all around the house that I’m always trying to find info on. People sometimes ask how old they are and most of my replies are “I have no idea” lol, especially on the ones that are unmarked. My wife’s grandparents have dug and collected since the 60s and we recently found a ton of jugs and stoneware stored in some old sheds on their property but sadly they’ve passed on so I can’t go to them anymore so the research continues!! Here is our 12gal “cat food storage stoneware” Thanks again for your input.

Yes, that is a definite stumbling block with the older crocks and jugs. We like them too. Still, I have to say, a 12 gallon crock for cat kibble?!:cool:;)

I understand. We're pet people too.--A couple indoors and maintain a cold weather shelter on the patio for strays and other wildlife. ..Always fun checking the cams and also, meeting new little friends who pass through the yard. Keep loving the crocks, jugs, + 4-leggeds. --CT Len

Thanks Len. If it was up to the Mrs we would have a mini zoo. She loves and cares for all animals.. nursing puppies, kittens, squirrels, rabbits, birds, hermit crabs, (you get what I’m saying) back to health from a most certain end. Some, well most stay. She is truly an animal whisperer. And I love old bottles and crocks lol.

Okay Bhannon, I now understand why its a 12 gal crock. :) One can appreciate the special relationship you two share with each other and nature. I too have heard about the hermits and other species struggling to survive. ..Chances are history will never record the extra work of superior folks like you but all such efforts on the larger level MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Thank You Both for doing what you do. ..There's a saying popular in coastal areas this time of year that may bear contemplation, "You're going to need a bigger boat!" ..Just substitute "crock" for "boat.";) ..BTW, what state are you in? --CT Len
