I went for a quick run tonight, and decided to bring along a backpack, gloves and a handheld digging tool. I ran by a dump I dug last year and dug right in the middle, trying to hit some virgin earth and go a little deeper. I pulled out this one and a common castoria in a pocket i hadn't dug. Says "ENTD ACORD TO" on one side and "ACT OF CONGRESS" on the other. Nice and crude embossing, and "acord" is mispelled. I did a quick search online and only found it listed as an open pontil. Must have just missed by a few years, still a good one to me :)

Very nice little bottle,...They're fun to dig. I dug one last fall and rinsed it before it was room temp....cracked it all up, Lobeycat, one of our cool and generous members here, sent me a good one to replace it!

The ACORd abreiviation is typical on those. What type of mold does the base indicate?
Some of them are key mold.
The product was made at least up to the 1890s
