Yesterday Creek walk Slug Plate & Blob Top, soda TN

Ah luck, after a storm the bottle settled down after the stream flow, nestling beside the rock instead of exploding on impact. This is a very scarce small town slug plate Chero-cola, only the second one I've seen. Needs a bath!

What town/state is it?

Looks like Jackson, Tenn to me

It is Jackson, TN and not the usual Chero-Cola, straight side soda. It is marked Chatt. 21 , a similar version was made in Trenton TN also. Both town's are rare in this version. I noticed digger McDirt posted one in 2010.

Got another Memphis blob top cleaned. Same brand as the CJ Hargan, this appears to be an older version, but not pontiled. Marked CJH instead of C.J. Hargan.

Found near the last blob top, this bottle was extracted from a rock hard bank in a gully, I discovered and opened years back, which once had been used as a trash pit in the old days. This colored blob top squatty , had my heart racing like a 12 point in the crosshairs! After the brick hard soil and residue soaked off , I could not find a single marking on this cobalt blue Memphis ale or soda bottle. I'm happy to have it, but local embossing would have put a bigger grin on my face!

And here is one of the weird grey glass Chero-Cola from Jackson Tenn. next to the much rarer slug plate version. Picked up a nice Memphis slant logo also, in normal clear aqua glass. The second photo shows the base for both versions, the S is for Summers Bottling Works, the Summer Bros. owned plants in Jackson, Whiteville and Somerville Tn.

Those fig syrups must have been very popular, I've found 3 lately!, along with Muroline salve and Horlick's malted milk bottles.
