Finding early veterinary medicines to add to my collection has become difficult. This past year I was able to complete my Youatt collection...I think. The two at the ends are pontiled. The center one is the most common.
William Youatt was born in 1776 in Exeter, England to a surgeon...
Last year i came upon a bottle embossed with Heard's American Embrocation. Over the years I have collected quite a few veterinary embrocation bottles...almost all have been British. I was not sure if this was a British bottle or American as I have embrocations claiming to be from various...
I have not posted in so long I feel like I need to reintroduce myself. I live in south Louisiana and collect veterinary medicines...sometimes apothecaries...and sometimes other bottles that catch my fancy. Almost all live in boxes but I hope to eventually let them out to live on shelves...
I have a few variations on Venetian Horse Liniment...smooth base, hinge mold, open pontil, 'flint' glass. I am trying to find an iron pontil one, if there is one out there. Jim Holst's Liniment book lists it as a possibility. Anyone ever seen one?
Trying to pare down a bit...not doing very well at it, but trying. Just put my misspelled Wonder Worker on eBay along with a Dally's Galvanic Horse Salve.

Most of my bottles are packed up until I get a space for display. I unpacked most of them last week looking for a particular one and ended up unpacking everything. They got a couple days in the fresh air until I needed the spare bedroom and had to pack them all back up. These are my labelled...
It has been awhile since I posted. Thought to start with this run of Tobias Horse Liniments. The first in line is pontiled, the next is hinge-mold with the remaining two key-mold. The third in line is the only flint glass one I have seen. Like to know if anyone has seen another. Looking for...
I am always looking for veterinary bottles. I prefer 1880's or earlier, especially pontiled ones, but also interested in later ones if they are unusual.
Hello all. With so much going on, I don't get on here much. Three kids graduating from college in the space of two weeks and all coming home until they can find jobs!Thought some might be interested in these non-bottle veterinary items: This is a seton needle. It screws together to make one...
This is the first Row's Embrocation I have seen that was not glass. It has already gone beyond what I am willing to spend on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3...ksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I have a pontiled vet bottle I need cleaned. Any one have suggestions on folks that do a good job?I think we had a list of folks on the old site, along with the comments...good and bad.
Here is my latest pontil scarred vet med. The lip is drippy, crud in the glass, saggy side and so much glass left on the bottom that it has trouble standing. Bottle collecting is the one time I appreciate poor quality control.
This is what we got this year and it shut us down for a couple days. I know it seems like we are winter wimps but we do not even have road salt.. My son works part time at Lowes and he said they were putting out water softener salt on the side walk. Even the hot water lines in the house...
Been absent from the pages for awhile. Time to throw a few more veterinary meds out there. Here are some British vet bottles I recently purchased. The company that produced the blue one is still in business and are researching it for me. They produced this for birds and horses. According to...
Got a call from Kingston, Jamaica to let me know that they (Publishers Clearing House) were worried that I had not responded to the two notices they sent concerning my prize, which they want to present to me tomorrow. The man on the the other end of the phone seemed quite concerned and wanted...
I just wanted to share this video of the dedication of a memorial to a member of our church back in Germany. They usually sat behind us at church. A sweet lady and a very gentle, unassuming man, not to mention three of the cutest little ones. His wife has taken a tragedy in her life and...
The two-word game has been going on for hundreds of pages now so it seems we have some avid game players.
I thought I might add another into the mix though I doubt it will have the legs that the 'two-word' game has had in the past.
At my husband's work, at the end of a presentation, the...
