A dig on Saturday turned up a vein of insulators, probably 40 in total but many were broken, as were most bottles & jars around them. The things are like glass rocks when thrown on the dumps! Usually find one or two insulators in most dumps but this one was crazy! Looking online this seems would...

Turned up this quart milk yesterday, backside has an embossed cow's head in circle, front reads Amityville Creamery L.I. Any info as to rarity or not? Thanks, Al
Just returned from a couple day dig with my son, he was undermining a vein down in his hole when this cross fell down into his hand, ha! I said it must be an omen or something. Cleaning it up some its pretty interesting, has a skull & cross bones near the bottom, seems to be brass, all the stuff...
Tilled up a garden spot for my sister at her house last weekend, the place is on my maps as being a coopers mill in 1867, started turning up shards of old glass and pottery right off. Its right on the edge of a drop off to low ground and appears it was a burn pit back in the day.
Crazy color...
I see alot of people posting large screen pictures saying having trouble resizing them, ect. and most image editing programs are a PITA just to post a pic on a forum.
Heres a cool little image resizing tool that integrates right into windows. To use simply right click the photo or photos you...
While on a pick a couple days ago I noticed across the road looked to be an old foundation, we asked the lady if she knew who owned over there and got the go ahead to poke around. After the van was loaded I told my partner while he was finishing up the paperwork I was going to walk over and have...
Heres a recent privy find, tooled top, smooth unmarked base. Has a lead foil type neck band but no label panels except for a flat base. I'm thinking its more of an orange because of the textured glass but welcome any ideas.

...and right on the bottom under some rotted wood in the slop was this pottery flask shaped bottle with a handle. Pics dont show it but this is sort of oval shaped with rather flattened sides, about 8 or 9" tall, no markings.
Seems I recall a name for these type flasks but cannot recall it...
Got into the worse old root infested hard digging privy today in along time, makes those easy in the lawn pits much more appreciated. These people must have all been related as the pits are all filled with these friggin baseball size rocks throughout the layers and most everything is busted up...
Here is a pin and a button found in a privy I haven't been able to identify. The pin is pretty rough shape but writing can barely be made out around border. The button is rough as well, has an eagle facing left and on back Scoville Mfg Co Waterbury
Any help identifying who the guy is greatly...
Went on a 'road trip' last weekend got into a really old place, two pits, first one was 1860s - 1890s, second pit was the older of the two! Unfortunately the majority of stuff, especially deeper down, was broken. This little guy came out near the bottom of the oldest pit. 3 1/2" tall, open...
Went up to my sisters camp near the St Lawrence couple days ago, found a small dump, most things broken, did find an orange crush bottle. Not familiar with the base embossing, hoping someone here might know. Camera's cord is on the blink so I dont have a picture as yet. Has the diamond on one...
Hoping someone here might have seen or have some info on a quart embossed milk I dug last Monday.
SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY PASTEURIZED MILK mTc 5-11-10
I haven't been able to find out anything on it. Ironically it was found about 50 miles North of Syracuse, 1910-20-40s era dump at the site of...
Heres a salt shaker we dug last fall, seemed to be 1920s-1930s era dump. Have been trying to attach a name to this pattern but so far no luck, any ideas? Thankyou, Al
The base is embossed with just the number '3'
