Do you think these are inks?

I found these all in the same spot along with two more that were broken. I found a full bottle of black ink in the same general spot. Lisa

Never seen any inks like that, but that is a possibility . Lisa you find the coolest oddball things ! Mitch

They don't look like inks to me either. They are embossed with grapes and vines and maybe an inch and a half high. At first I thought it was some sort of salt shaker, but I found 6 of them in a 3 ft x 3 ft place. There are no maker's marks on the bottom just a star burst pattern. Everything in the U.P. is a mystery lol. I can't dig for awhile, so I thought I would finally post some stuff.Lisa

They look upside-down. Think stopper, probably with a cork or plastic sealing thing.

I'm going with stopper as well. Lisa, did you find any large bottle shards in this dig? Like from a half gallon or gallon bottle? See if one of these fits inside with room to spare. Scott

yes they are stoppers which had cork around them.

Wow I never even thought of it that way! I believe you are right. When I turn them upside down and look at them, I realized the embossing was right. I never even noticed before that I was seeing the embossing upside down!! There are quite a few wine bottles at this site but after bringing home one of each variety, I left the rest.
